For their first release, Magic Beach (Hobo Cubes & Monkey King / GOA) embark on a drugged out hiking trip up a cosmic mountain... looking for the hidden truth at the Cloud Temple. Electronic waves merge with distorted guitar feedback and loop into an ever evolving haze of stoner dreams. Noisy vocal mantras and high god guitar shredding float above heavy tribal drums. A definite kraut burner!

ASSS (from Portland), move away from their drone inducing drumming to subtler electronic treatments that will fill your blood with a meditative liquid, slowly bubbling as different effects pop into the mix. Their weird vocals and heavy cello-drone will make you wanna spread a thick layer of hashish on your brain and smoke it. Go check them out on tour in March with Chrome Wings.

Né en 1951 en Hollande, Jaap Blonk est un musicien autodidacte, un artiste de la performance vocale et de la poésie sonore. Manipulant les mots et les sonorités vocales avec simplicité, ce performeur de la voix marque ses outrances au langage dans un esprit dadaïste. Il explore les champs entre parole et musique, toujours à la recherche de sons nouveaux et de combinaisons de sons,sans abandonner totalement la sémantique du langage. Sa puissante présence scénique renforce une presque naïve liberté d'interprétation.

Monstre est un artiste montréalais qui, à l’aide de sa voix et de manipulations électroniques, offre une vue unique sur les possibilités éclatées que peut offrir le mélange du pop et du noise. Il est sans nul doute un des musiciens de la scène locale les plus excitant en spectacle, offrant des performances allant d’assauts sonores sans quartiers à de petits jams balinais. Entre électro-pop biscornu et psychédélisme flippé!

In the late 1970s Jaap Blonk took up the saxophone and started to compose music. He later discovered his potential as a vocal performer, at first by reciting poetry and later on by his own improvised compositions. For almost two decades the voice was his main means for the discovery and development of new sounds. Around 2000 Blonk started working with electronics, at first using samples of his own voice, then including pure sound synthesis as well.

Monstre is a vocal artist from Montreal who has been both playing live and releasing recordings of his unique take on noise and pop using his voice and electronics. Monstre is one of the most interesting live acts currently operating in the bustling local underground, with performances ranging from full-on noise assaults, to Balinese style jams, quirky electro-pop to psychedelic-style freak outs!
